British Airways Adds Tivat and Guernsey to Heathrow Network for 2026
BA expands Heathrow flights with two new destinations

British Airways has revealed significant expansion plans for its London Heathrow operations, announcing two brand-new destinations to be added to its flight schedule for summer 2026.

New Coastal Getaway and Channel Island Connection

The UK's flag carrier is introducing direct services to Tivat in Montenegro, marking the airline's first foray into this upmarket coastal destination. Described by the airline as perfect for travellers seeking clear blue waters and stunning coastlines, Tivat offers year-round sunshine and represents a growing trend for luxury Mediterranean escapes.

Simultaneously, British Airways will bridge a notable gap in UK connectivity by launching direct flights to Guernsey from Heathrow. This new route addresses the current absence of direct services between Britain's largest airport and the Channel Island, providing both business and leisure travellers with convenient access.

Flight Schedule and Ticket Information

The new Tivat service will commence on May 14, 2026, operating three times weekly during peak season on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Return fares for this Mediterranean destination will start from approximately £172 per person.

Guernsey flights will begin slightly later, starting May 19, 2026, with the significant advantage of operating daily throughout the entire year. Tickets for this domestic UK route will be available from just £101 return per person.

Broader Heathrow Expansion Strategy

These additions bring British Airways' short-haul route network from Heathrow to nearly 100 destinations, strengthening the airline's position as the dominant carrier at the UK's busiest airport. The announcement comes alongside Heathrow Airport's own multi-billion pound renovation plans, which will add retail space equivalent to 10 football pitches and potentially a new runway by 2035.

British Airways has also confirmed other network changes for 2026, including direct off-season flights to Bangkok and increased frequency on popular routes to Doha, Miami and Las Vegas. The airline has simultaneously streamlined its transatlantic operations by consolidating all New York services through Heathrow, discontinuing the Gatwick-New York route.
