A new game set in The Witcher universe is reportedly in development, but it is not Project Sirius. According to MP1st, a free-to-play co-op action role-player is being created, targeting only PC and mobile devices, with no console release planned.
Details of the Unannounced Title
The game reportedly takes place in the year 1230, when Geralt was still a young witcher. Players will be able to create and customize their own witcher, with the main gameplay loop revolving around taking on monster-killing contracts across various environments.
While the report does not confirm which studio is behind the title, speculation points to mobile developer Scopely, which formed a partnership with CD Projekt in March 2025. Scopely is known for Monopoly Go! and Star Trek Fleet Command.
CD Projekt's Expanding Witcher Universe
CD Projekt has multiple Witcher games in development, including The Witcher 4, a remake of the first game, and an expansion for The Witcher 3 titled Songs Of The Past. The Witcher 4 is the start of a new trilogy, and Project Sirius is a multiplayer spin-off. This new title appears to be another multiplayer project.
The Witcher series has previously attempted mobile spin-offs like Gwent and The Witcher Battle Arena, but none achieved significant success. If Scopely is involved, CD Projekt may be aiming for a Pokémon Go-style hit.
When Will We See The Witcher 4?
Despite being announced in 2022, no proper gameplay footage of The Witcher 4 has been shown. A cinematic trailer and an Unreal Engine 5 tech demo were released, but CD Projekt confirmed the latter was not from the actual game.
The Songs Of The Past expansion for The Witcher 3 is expected to launch next year, likely unveiled at Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 26. The Witcher 4 probably won't be shown until after the expansion's release, with The Game Awards in December a possibility, though next year is more likely.
