McCoy's Yellow Mustard Crisps: The Best Limited Edition Flavour Yet
McCoy's Yellow Mustard Crisps: Best Limited Edition Yet

McCoy's has introduced two new limited edition crisp flavours: Hot Kick Ketchup and Yellow Mustard. According to Samantha Bartlett, Assistant Editor at Social News, the Yellow Mustard flavour may be the best the brand has ever produced.

Background on McCoy's Crisps

McCoy's has been a staple for British crisp lovers since 1985, created by KP Snacks to offer a thicker, more heavily seasoned adult snack. The crisps are manufactured entirely in the UK, with KP Snacks headquartered in Slough, England. The original three flavours were Ready Salted, Salt & Malt Vinegar, and Cheddar & Onion. Today, the range includes Flamin' Fajita, Spicy Salsa, Grilled Cheese, and the signature Flame Grilled Steak.

Taste Test Results

The two new flavours are part of a partnership with the NFL, featuring American-inspired game-day tastes and unique player-card packaging ahead of the upcoming football season. Hot Kick Ketchup offers a spicy twist on classic ketchup, with a creamy tomato base and a tangy, fiery kick. Bartlett found it well-balanced with just the right amount of spice.

However, the standout is Yellow Mustard. Bartlett described it as having a smooth, mellow heat that mimics a classic ballpark mustard. "These really have a great mustard flavour, without it being overpowering, and offer something totally unique which other crisp brands aren't doing. I honestly think it's one of the most original and best flavours of any crisps I've tasted for years," she said.

Availability and Promotion

The new flavours are available in Tesco, Morrisons, and Asda in 6 x 25g multipacks with an RRP of £2.35. They also feature in McCoy's on-pack competition running from August to November 2026, offering shoppers a chance to win a trip to Super Bowl LXI in Los Angeles plus cash prizes from a £100,000 prize pot.
