Fans have been left furious after HeritageLive cancelled its entire summer festival series, with many unable to obtain refunds and accusing the promoter of disappearing with their money. The concerts, scheduled for August 2026 at Audley End, Englefield, and Sandringham estates, were axed due to poor ticket sales despite a star-studded lineup including Christina Aguilera, Lionel Richie, and Janet Jackson.
Refund confusion and blame game
Ticket holders who purchased through SeeTickets report being caught in a loop where neither SeeTickets nor HeritageLive takes responsibility. Kevin Doyle, a fan who bought a ticket for Christina Aguilera, said on TikTok: “They potentially seem to have run for the hills with your money.” He claimed that SeeTickets told customers the funds had already been paid to HeritageLive and that the promoter is solely responsible for refunds. However, an email provided by SeeTickets for refund requests bounced back as undeliverable.
Other ticket holders, like HelsBels, expressed anger: “I’m fuming, less than 2 weeks and cancelled. I should be seeing Richard Ashcroft on 24th, cannot get in touch with either see tickets or heritage live as you mentioned, all social media and contact details shut down. Someone owes me £200.” TikTok user bits.and.bobs.of.my.life posted emails showing both companies refusing to handle refunds.
Ticketmaster issues automatic refunds
In contrast, Ticketmaster told Metro it is issuing automatic refunds to all customers within 14-21 days. An email from Ticketmaster stated: “The Event Organiser has cancelled the performance of HERITAGE LIVE: The Streets + Special Guests on 7 August 2026. You’ll receive an automatic refund on your original method of payment within 14-21 days, depending on your bank’s processing time.” However, SeeTickets has directed fans to contact HeritageLive directly.
HeritageLive’s statement and investment failure
HeritageLive’s cancellation statement cited “far lower than average” interest and poor ticket sales, along with rising expenses and a saturated festival market. The promoter had been working on an investment and equity package that “fell through at the 11th hour.” The statement added: “As one of the few remaining British independent promoters, it’s become almost impossible to compete in what has become an increasingly saturated festival market.” It promised refunds would be generated automatically by ticket agents, but many fans report otherwise.
Fans advised to contact banks
HeritageLive’s social media comments have been disabled, and fans like Kevin Doyle say the promoter cannot be contacted. An edited caption on the cancellation post advised: “If you experience any difficulties obtaining a refund, as per any transaction using your card, you are able to claim a refund for services not provided from your Credit Card Provider or Bank.” Fans are urged to initiate Section 75 claims or chargebacks through their banking provider.
Metro reached out to SeeTickets and HeritageLive for comment but did not receive a reply at the time of publication.
