Electronic Arts has unveiled EA Sports FC 27, the latest installment in its football franchise, following the 2026 World Cup. The game launches officially on September 25, 2025, but players who pre-order the Ultimate Edition or the new Ultimate Plus Edition can start playing on September 18. The game is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PC. However, the new social mode, The Grounds, is exclusive to PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2, and PC.
Three Editions and Their Pricing
EA Sports FC 27 comes in three editions: Standard, Ultimate, and Ultimate Plus. The Standard Edition costs £69.99 on consoles and £59.99 on PC. Pre-ordering it grants bonuses for Career mode (pre-order challenges, three ICONs/Heroes, five-star coach and youth scout) and The Grounds (Signature Sweatsuit, tier three AMP inspired by Kylian Mbappé, two AXP Multipliers for 10 matches, and consumables). It also includes a 92+ OVR ICON Player Item for EA Sports FC 26.
The Ultimate Edition, priced at £99.99 on consoles and £89.99 on PC, includes all Standard Edition bonuses plus seven-day early access, a Premium Pass for Season 1, up to 6,000 FC Points delivered across three monthly drops, an 85+ OVR International ICON Player Item for FUT, an additional Player Evolution Slot, a five-star senior scout for Career, five additional Manager Live Challenge Creation Slots, and a 99 DRI Stat Evolution for EA Sports FC 26. Pre-ordering before September 1 adds a 93+ OVR ICON Player Pick for EA Sports FC 26.
The new Ultimate Plus Edition, priced at £139.99 on consoles and £129.99 on PC, is available only until August 31. It includes everything from the Ultimate Edition plus Premium Passes for Seasons 1 through 5, up to 10,000 FC Points across five monthly drops, a Hall of FUT Direct Player Pick (choose from Adebayo Akinfenwa, Giovani dos Santos, Loic Remy, Marouane Fellaini, or Eljero Elia), and a 99 PHY Stat Evolution for EA Sports FC 26.
Pre-Order Discounts and Dual Entitlement
Retailers such as Smyths, GAME, Very, and Sports Direct offer the Standard Edition at £64.99, a £5 discount. The Switch 2 and Switch 1 versions are £54.99 and £49.99, respectively. The Ultimate and Ultimate Plus Editions are digital-only and sold at full price. Dual entitlement is available on PlayStation and Xbox, allowing cross-generation access.
Beta Test Rumors
A closed beta for EA Sports FC 27 is expected, rumored to run from August 5 to August 25, similar to last year's beta. Registration for EA Playtesting is required to receive an invite. EA has not officially confirmed these dates.
