Dear Passengers viral with Epstein reference, backlash

Game Trailer Amasses Millions of Views

Dear Passengers, a physics-based co-op game developed by Ukraine-based studio Flexus, has gone viral overnight. The trailer, released on Tuesday, has garnered over 42.6 million views on X and 241,600 views on TikTok. Players take on the role of cabin crew for the 'world's worst airline,' a premise ripe for chaotic multiplayer fun and Ryanair jokes.

Epstein Reference Sparks Outrage

The game's virality is partly due to a controversial reference to convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. In the trailer, the pilot is named 'Epst. J,' and is shown slapping a figure resembling Donald Trump before throwing him out of the plane. While some view it as satire, many have condemned the use of Epstein's name.

One X user wrote, 'Using a reference to Epstein to market your game is kinda gross I'm ngl [not gonna lie]. Like there is zero reason for someone to have Epts. J as they username in the game trailer [sic].' Another added, 'Why the fk is a username like that in the OFFICIAL TRAILER for this game? Never playing anything from Flexus.' Posts criticizing the game have attracted over 47,000 likes, suggesting the reference was a deliberate marketing tactic.
