Coronation Street actress Charlotte Jordan has addressed the possibility of returning to the ITV soap as Daisy Midgeley, following her departure in 2025. Jordan, who played Daisy for several years, is currently starring in the BBC period drama The Hairdresser Mysteries as Clary Coombs.
Daisy's dramatic exit and new role
Daisy was involved in major storylines, including being stalked by Justin Rutherford, which led to a horrific acid attack that left Ryan Connor (Ryan Prescott) with severe burns. In 2025, Daisy left Weatherfield after stealing a large sum of money from her step-mother Jenny Connor. After leaving Coronation Street, Jordan briefly appeared in radio soap The Archers as Amber but left due to scheduling conflicts with The Hairdresser Mysteries.
The new BBC series, described as a 'cosy crime drama' set in the 1970s, features Jordan as Clary Coombs alongside Sally Phillips and Sunetra Sarker. The show follows Lily Petal (Phillips) who swaps city life for a village salon, where her intuitive skills help solve local mysteries as clients share secrets during appointments.
Return to Weatherfield?
When asked about a potential return to Coronation Street, Jordan joked that 'nobody's asked' so far. She told Radio Times: 'For now I'm happy to just keep exploring... I mean, I only left a year ago, it's very early days, so now I'm happy to keep giving it a good go.'
Jordan also discussed the differences between her roles, noting that working on Coronation Street was a 'fantastic training ground' for the BBC drama. She said: 'Speed-wise, it wasn't an adjustment… Corrie was a fantastic training ground in that sense, for this particular job, but I did really like playing a character that couldn't be more different from who I played… I was hoping for that. I wanted to play someone next who was the polar opposite, so I'm grateful for that.'
Contrasting genres and characters
She added: 'It wasn't super different technically, it was all sort of the same ingredients, but it was a very different world, and it's a very different tone… It's a different genre, different vibes. So that was great.' Jordan's new series The Hairdresser Mysteries is now airing on BBC.
