A sold-out open-air concert by Puerto Rican music star Bad Bunny in Milan was abandoned on Saturday night after a violent hailstorm struck the venue. Organiser Live Nation confirmed on Sunday that all ticketholders would receive full refunds.
Storm forces evacuation
Videos shared on social media showed large hailstones pelting the crowd at the Snai La Maura Hippodrome, accompanied by strong winds and driving rain, shortly after Bad Bunny began his set. The concert was interrupted and the area was safely evacuated, according to Live Nation.
“Due to adverse weather conditions, including thunderstorms and hail, Bad Bunny’s concert scheduled for 18 July at the Snai La Maura Hippodrome in Milan was interrupted and the area was safely evacuated,” the ticket operator wrote on its website.
Full refunds for attendees
Live Nation added that all ticketholders would receive full refunds. The abrupt cancellation disappointed thousands of fans, but safety concerns took priority as the storm intensified.
The incident highlights the risks of outdoor events during unpredictable summer weather in Italy. No injuries were reported.
