Brennan Mongan, 31, of Sewell Road in Abbey Wood, has been jailed for three years and two months after a hit-and-run crash that sent a woman “flying” across the street. The sentencing took place at Woolwich Crown Court on September 11, following his conviction for grievous bodily harm, dangerous driving, criminal damage, and driving while disqualified.

The incident occurred on March 8 in Harrow Manorway, Abbey Wood, at approximately 4 PM. Shocking footage of the crash, which showed a car striking a Muslim woman at speed before driving off, was widely shared online. The woman, who was in her 20s, was taken to hospital, where her condition was not deemed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
Mongan was arrested in Scotland two weeks after the incident. Emergency services attended the scene on Harrow Manorway, and the footage prompted a public appeal from London police to identify the driver.
