Londoners are experiencing major rush hour delays across several Tube lines and the Overground on Tuesday evening. A series of incidents, including a fire alert, a trespasser on the track, and a broken-down freight train, have caused severe disruption for commuters.
Circle and District lines
The Circle line is suffering severe delays on the entire route following an earlier fire alert at Bayswater Tube station. This has also impacted the District line, causing severe delays between Edgware Road and High Street Kensington.
Piccadilly line
Severe delays are reported on the Piccadilly line between Acton Town and Uxbridge, Acton Town and Heathrow Terminal T5, and Heathrow Terminal T4 and Acton Town. Transport for London (TfL) confirmed this is due to a trespasser on the track at South Ealing.
Central and Victoria lines
The Central line has minor delays between Hainault and Woodford after a signal failure. The Victoria line is also experiencing minor delays on the entire route due to a track fault.
Suffragette Overground
Passengers on the Suffragette Overground line should expect severe delays between South Tottenham and Gospel Oak in both directions. The service between Barking Riverside and South Tottenham is suspended. A broken-down freight train at Wanstead Park is blocking all lines, causing cancellations between Gospel Oak and Barking Riverside. National Rail stated the disruption is expected to last until at least 6pm, though this may change.
