Dozens evacuated after massive warehouse fire in northwest London

More than 70 people have been evacuated from their homes in northwest London after a massive fire tore through a nearby warehouse. The blaze, which broke out at a business park on Oxgate Lane in Brent shortly after 9pm on Thursday, engulfed both floors and the roof of the building.

Firefighters battle the blaze

Around 150 firefighters and 25 fire engines were deployed to bring the fire under control. The London Fire Brigade (LFB) reported that nearly 90 calls were made to 999 reporting the incident. Thick plumes of black smoke could be seen from miles away, prompting warnings for nearby residents to keep windows and doors closed.

Evacuations and safety measures

Approximately 70 people from a neighbouring residential block were evacuated as a precaution while firefighting operations were underway. No injuries have been reported. An LFB spokesperson said: 'The fire was located on a business park and involved a multi-use warehouse building consisting of two floors. At the fire's height, the majority of the structure and its roof was alight.'
