British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with a sexual assault on the Elizabeth line. The incident occurred during the morning rush hour on January 27, when a woman was attacked as she boarded a London-bound train at Southall station.
Details of the Incident
The victim was assaulted by a man shortly before 8am. Despite extensive enquiries, the suspect remains at large nearly four months later. BTP detectives are now appealing to the public for help in identifying the individual pictured in the released footage.
Suspect Description
The man is described as young, of slim build, with short black hair, a goatee, and a moustache. He was wearing a dark red Puma hoodie, baggy blue jeans, and carrying a blue backpack with the word 'safari' printed on one strap.
Anyone who recognises the man is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 455 of 27 January. Information can also be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Similar Incident on London Overground
In a separate case, a woman was sexually assaulted on the London Overground. The attack took place on a service from West Croydon on the Windrush line at around 4.45pm on May 6. A man approached the victim asking for money before invading her personal space and attempting to kiss her. Another passenger intervened, causing the perpetrator to move away through the carriage.
BTP is investigating both incidents and urges anyone with information to come forward.
