Drivers using the A2 are being urged to plan ahead this week as 26 overnight closures are scheduled along the route, as first reported by our sister title London Now. National Highways has announced a series of maintenance works between Monday and Thursday, with several stretches of the A2 and associated slip roads closing repeatedly over four consecutive nights.

Monday and Tuesday Closures
From 8pm to 6am on Monday, September 21, the A2 southbound and northbound between the Duke of York roundabout and Eastern Docks roundabout will be closed. The Harbledown eastbound exit slip road and westbound entry slip road will also be shut during these hours.
The A2 eastbound Tollgate entry slip road will be closed from 9pm to 6am. The link road from Darenth Interchange to M25 clockwise at Junction 2 will be shut from 10pm to 5.30am.
Tuesday, September 22, will see the same closures as Monday, with the carriageways between the Duke of York and Eastern Docks roundabouts, both northbound and southbound, closed from 8pm to 6am. The eastbound Harbledown exit slip road and westbound Harbledown entry slip road will also be closed during these hours. The A2 eastbound Tollgate entry slip road will again be shut from 9pm to 6am.
Wednesday and Thursday Works
Wednesday night will see the continuation of the Duke of York and Eastern Docks roundabouts, both northbound and southbound, closed from 8pm to 6am. The Harbledown eastbound exit slip road and westbound entry slip road will also be closed during these hours.
Patrixbourne's westbound exit slip road will be closed from 8pm to 5am. Cobham services' westbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed from 9pm to 6am. Pepperhill's westbound exit slip road will be closed from 8pm to 4am, and the eastbound entry slip road from 8pm to 6am. Darenth Interchange's eastbound exit slip road will be shut from 10pm to 5.30am.
Thursday, September 24, will see the final night of closures for this week, with the Duke of York and Eastern Docks roundabouts, both northbound and southbound, shut from 8pm to 6am. The Harbledown eastbound exit slip road and westbound entry slip road will also be closed during these hours.
Recurring Disruptions
Patrixbourne's westbound exit slip road will be closed from 8pm to 5am. Cobham services' westbound entry and exit slip roads will be closed from 9pm to 6am. The most significant recurring works are around Dover and Harbledown, where closures are scheduled for all four nights.
