London bus driver reveals top 5 annoying passenger habits on public transport
Bus driver's top 5 passenger annoyances on public transport

A London bus driver has shared the five passenger habits that most irritate him and his colleagues. Transport for London operates approximately 8,500 buses across 675 routes, carrying millions of commuters daily. While drivers strive to maintain punctuality and order, certain passenger behaviors frequently disrupt operations.

1. Passengers not having their pass ready

According to TikTok user Snoopio, an Arriva bus driver in London, passengers waiting at a stop have ample time to prepare their pass before boarding. Having a pass ready upon entry helps keep the service running efficiently, he explained in a video reported by the Express.

2. Running passengers failing to thank the driver

Many people dash for a bus when running late, but drivers cannot always wait. Those who do hold the bus appreciate a simple 'thank you' from passengers who board as a result, Snoopio noted.

3. Pressing the stop bell multiple times unnecessarily

When the stop bell rings, drivers assume passengers wish to alight. Snoopio highlighted that it is particularly frustrating when no one gets off, causing an unnecessary delay that impacts the driver's schedule.

4. Tapping on a window

The standard way for waiting passengers to signal a bus is by extending an arm. Knocking on glass doors or windows can startle the driver, Snoopio said.

5. A passenger telling the driver someone is rushing to catch the bus

The driver stated it would be more practical for the passenger to board first, allowing the driver to decide whether to wait for the latecomer.
