The 26-year-old has less than a year left on his Madrid contract, making him available on a free transfer next summer. According to The Athletic, Arsenal have not made an official approach, but a switch to north London 'appeals' to Vinicius Jr. If he decides to move to the Premier League, personal terms are expected to be easily agreed.
Arteta's admiration and Madrid's ultimatum
Mikel Arteta is a known admirer of the winger. A source close to the Arsenal manager said: 'Arteta loves him. If he doesn't renew, we will be there.' This interest comes as Real Madrid have issued an ultimatum to Vinicius Jr: either sign a new deal or be sold before the end of the summer window.
Madrid's latest contract offer remains on the table, but they have made it clear it is final.
