Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) dons his detective hat to uncover the truth behind Theo Silverton's murder, with Gary Windass (Mikey North) emerging as a prime suspect. The storyline highlights the depth of Theo's villainy, as six residents become persons of interest.
The Suspects
The obvious suspect is Todd himself, given his toxic year-long relationship with Theo, marked by abuse and gaslighting. However, others include Todd's mentor George Shuttleworth (Tony Maudsley), partner Christina Boyd (Amy Robbins), adoptive daughter Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), and Theo's ex-wife Danielle Silverton (Natalie Anderson). Leading the list is builder Gary Windass, Theo's employer and former friend, whose violent past and actions on the day of the murder—smashing Theo's van with a sledgehammer and deleting footage—make him a key suspect. His wife Maria Connor (Samia Longchambon) provided a false alibi.
Affair Rumors
Gary's close behavior with Sarah Platt (Tina O'Brien) has sparked speculation of an affair. Sarah's current boyfriend, DS Kit Green (Jacob Roberts), is investigating the case and has already questioned Gary. Todd is also struggling after learning Summer deliberately made herself ill to avoid prison for Theo's murder, and police found his phone with Brody Michaelis's (Ryan Mulvey) fingerprints.
The Dinner Party
Tensions rise at a dinner party where Maria accuses Gary and Sarah of having an affair. The episode features flashbacks and flashforwards, ending with smashed glass and blood on the tablecloth. After the party, Todd confronts Sarah about her secret with Gary. Gary taunts Kit, insisting there's no affair and that Kit's jealousy is driving the murder accusation. Todd seeks answers from Sarah, hoping to unravel the truth.
