Fans of The Traitors are rushing to binge the new season of the hit reality show, as The Traitors India lands on BBC iPlayer. The Indian adaptation of the Dutch series De Verraders premiered on BBC One on April 30, 2026, with all episodes available for streaming immediately.
Global Success Continues
Since its UK debut in 2022, The Traitors has become one of the most watched British reality game shows, spawning multiple international versions. The UK edition has run for four seasons, plus a Celebrity version won by Alan Carr in 2025. The format has been adapted in the US, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Ireland, and now India.
What to Expect from The Traitors India
Hosted by Bollywood filmmaker and talk show host Karan Johar, the Indian version features 20 celebrities, including Anshula Kapoor, Apoorva, Ashish Vidyarthi, Elnaaz Nourouzi, and Harsh Gujral. Instead of a Scottish castle, the game unfolds at the opulent Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer, known as the Golden City.
Reviews have praised the series for its visual grandeur and gripping gameplay. Rediff called it “gritty, glamorous and full of plot twists,” while India Today declared it a must-watch for fans of high drama. OTT Play described it as “engaging and addictive,” and FilmFare noted it revels in its over-the-top nature. Viewers have called it “awesome” and “gripping.”
Future of The Traitors Franchise
A second season of The Traitors India is already in production. Meanwhile, the BBC confirmed in March 2026 that the UK version and Celebrity Traitors will continue for at least four more years, with host Claudia Winkleman promising more twists and betrayals at Ardross Castle. The Celebrity Traitors finale drew a peak audience of 15.4 million, making it the most-watched series of 2025.
The Traitors India airs tonight at 9pm on BBC One and is streaming on BBC iPlayer.
