Take-Two Interactive, the publisher behind the Grand Theft Auto series, has outlined an ambitious slate of releases through the 2029 fiscal year. According to the company's latest financial report, it plans to launch seven sequels and three new intellectual properties (IPs) in addition to remakes, remasters, and ports.
Upcoming Titles Through 2029
The publisher's Q4 2026 earnings report reveals a total of 26 titles expected before April 2029. This includes three mobile games, eight sports titles, three core new IPs, and 15 core existing IP titles—comprising remakes, remasters, and platform extensions. Among the known projects are the highly anticipated GTA 6, set for release on November 19, and remakes of Max Payne 1 and 2, developed by Remedy Entertainment.
Fiscal Year 2027 Details
For the current fiscal year ending April 2027, Take-Two president Karl Slatoff confirmed two mobile titles (including CSR 3 – Street Car Racing), three sports games (NBA 2K27, PGA Tour 2K27, and WWE 2K27), and one platform extension. The latter could be a current-gen port of Red Dead Redemption 2 or a Nintendo Switch 2 version of GTA 5, both long-rumored.
2028 and 2029 Slate
Beyond April 2027, Take-Two plans 22 titles during the 2028 and 2029 fiscal years. This includes one mobile title, five sports titles, three core new IPs, and 13 games from existing IPs—seven sequels and six remakes, remasters, or ports. Two of the new IPs are already known: Judas, from Bioshock creator Ken Levine, and the roguelike hero shooter Project ETHOS. A third new IP remains unannounced.
Max Payne Remake Timeline
Remedy Entertainment has not yet announced a release date for the Max Payne 1+2 remakes. However, with the studio launching Control Resonant this year, the remakes are expected after March 2027. The financial report confirms they will arrive at least after that date. Speculation suggests Rockstar may also remaster Max Payne 3 to complete the trilogy, though that title was developed by Rockstar without Remedy's involvement.
Other Potential Projects
The spree of sequels and remakes has sparked speculation about unannounced titles. Potential candidates include a new Mafia remake, additional Borderlands games, or a sequel to L.A. Noire. Bioshock 4 is likely among the sequels, while the Max Payne remakes fall under the remake category.
With GTA 6 arriving over 13 years after GTA 5, Take-Two is poised for a historic period. The company's diverse portfolio spans action, sports, and role-playing genres, ensuring a steady stream of content for years to come.
