Strictly Come Dancing professional Alexis Warr, 26, has announced her separation from husband Jake Burton after nearly eight years of marriage. The couple, who share a Mormon upbringing, married at age 18 in Utah.
Social media announcement
Alexis, who reached the 2025 Strictly final with TikTok star George Clarke, shared the news on social media after being absent from public posts. She wrote: 'After much consideration and with the greatest respect for each other, Jake and I have made the decision to separate. Whilst this hasn't been an easy decision, it has been reached with a huge amount of love, and we're each other's biggest cheerleaders.'
The US dancer, also known for So You Think You Can Dance? and guest pro on Dancing with the Stars, asked for privacy as they navigate this life change together, adding: 'Thank you, as always, for your support.'
Previous tributes
In November, Alexis marked seven years of marriage with a heartfelt message: 'Happy anniversary to the absolute love of my life. 7 years of being your wife has been an absolute privilege.' In a birthday message to Jake, she called him 'my best friend and forever love' and praised him for 'chasing dreams with me.'
However, Jake has been absent from Alexis's social media for months, with the anniversary post being his last appearance. The cause of the split remains unclear.
Strictly future
The separation comes months before Alexis returns for her second Strictly series, as one of the surviving pros after the BBC's mass cull. She recently completed the Strictly Pro Live Tour 2026, her first since joining the show in 2025 alongside Julian Caillon.
Alexis won So You Think You Can Dance in 2022, becoming the first Ballroom and Latin dancer to be crowned America's favourite dancer. Upon joining Strictly, she said: 'I've admired Strictly for years, so joining this incredible family is such an honour.'
