Slovenian FA Moves to Clarify Benjamin Sesko Injury Situation

The Football Association of Slovenia has issued a new statement seeking to calm tensions surrounding the fitness of Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko. The 22-year-old, who joined United in a £64 million summer transfer from RB Leipzig, sustained a knee injury during the Premier League clash with Tottenham last Saturday.

Medical Documentation Received

Initial frustration from the Slovenian national team management, including coach Matjaz Kek, has now been resolved. The Slovenian FA confirms that all relevant medical documentation has been received from Manchester United, detailing the clinical picture and examinations performed on Sesko.

A spokesperson stated: "The medical team of the Slovenian national football team received the complete medical documentation from Manchester United regarding Benjamin Sesko's health condition following his injury on Saturday."

Recovery Process Underway

While the specific nature of the injury remains undisclosed, the statement confirms the issue is significant enough to prevent Sesko from participating in any training. The striker will remain with his club for further examinations and the beginning of his treatment, ruling him out of Slovenia's upcoming international fixtures.

The spokesperson added: "Unfortunately, the injury currently does not allow for the training process. In the coming days, additional examinations and the start of treatment are planned at the club."

United manager Ruben Amorim had previously confirmed the problem was knee-related, though reports suggest it is not believed to be a long-term issue. Sesko has scored two goals in seven starting appearances for United this season, finding the net against both Brentford and Sunderland.

Manchester United will be hoping to have their summer signing available when club football resumes after the international break, with a match against Everton scheduled next.
