Furthermore, Dortmund manager Niko Kovac has reportedly indicated to the club's hierarchy that he is open to such a transfer. A significant hurdle is Sancho's salary, as he would need to accept a substantial pay cut to facilitate the move. Bild suggests this will not be an issue, as Sancho is willing to sacrifice financially to secure what is described as a 'dream' return to Signal Iduna Park.
Dortmund's Motivation and Current Context
Borussia Dortmund are keen to strengthen their wide attacking options, especially after selling England U21 star Jamie Gittens to Chelsea last summer. Currently, Dortmund sit second in the Bundesliga, though they trail runaway leaders Bayern Munich by nine points.
