Details of the Proposed Transfer Deal
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that Al-Hilal have agreed a fee of approximately €30 million (around £26 million) with Rennes for the highly-rated French forward. Although the deal is not yet complete, with a medical examination still required, no significant obstacles are anticipated. This represents an improved offer from the Saudi club, who saw an initial bid of €23 million (£19.9 million) rejected earlier this month.
Kader Meite, who stands at an imposing 6'4", made his professional debut at just 16 years old and has been monitored by several Premier League clubs. The France Under-21 international has scored three Ligue 1 goals this season, demonstrating promising potential rather than prolific output at this early stage of his career.
Al-Hilal's Strengthening Squad
Meite will join Simone Inzaghi's ambitious Al-Hilal side, which already boasts notable talents including Darwin Nunez, Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly, Theo Hernandez, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, and Pablo Mari. The Riyadh-based club currently leads the Saudi Pro League table in a tight title race ahead of rivals Al-Ahli and Al-Qadisiyah.

In additional disappointing news for Manchester United, Portuguese midfielder Ruben Neves appears set to remain with Al-Hilal despite interest from European clubs. The 28-year-old, who moved from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Saudi Arabia in 2023, is reportedly in the final stages of negotiating a new three-year contract.
Neves had been identified as a potential January signing for Manchester United, who were seeking to strengthen their midfield options with a relatively affordable acquisition. The former Porto player has maintained his place in the Portugal national squad since his move to the Saudi Pro League, featuring nine times for his country in 2025 and positioning himself for World Cup selection this summer.
