Harry Kane has shared his prediction for the Champions League final between Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain, calling it an 'even match' while naming PSG as slight favourites. The final is set to take place in Budapest on May 30.
Arsenal's Path to the Final
Mikel Arteta's Arsenal secured their spot in the Champions League final with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Atletico Madrid at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night. The win marked a significant achievement for the Gunners, who are now aiming to win their first European Cup since 2006, when they lost to Barcelona in the final.
PSG's Comeback Victory
Paris Saint-Germain, the reigning champions, advanced to the final after overturning a 5-4 deficit from the first leg against Bayern Munich. Despite conceding an early goal at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday evening, Vincent Kompany's side struggled to find the net until Kane's equalizer in the fourth minute of injury time. The goal was not enough, as PSG held on to secure their place in the final.
Kane's Verdict
Speaking after Bayern's elimination, Kane offered his thoughts on the upcoming final. 'I think it's really even,' he said. 'Two totally different teams in the way they play but two very strong teams. It will be an interesting final, for sure. I think PSG being the reigning champions obviously hold the right to maybe be slight favourites. But overall I think it will be two top teams going at it, it'll be an even match.'
Luis Enrique's Praise for Arsenal
PSG manager Luis Enrique also weighed in, praising Arsenal for their performance this season. 'It's going to be a different final,' he said. 'But Mikel Arteta, they did it great, they deserved to get to the final. They have been performing the whole season at a high level, they were unbelievable during the whole season. But it's a final, they want to win it, I think it would be their first. We want to continue making history in Paris, and to make history we need to win the second one in a row.'
The Champions League final promises to be a thrilling encounter between two of Europe's top clubs, with Arsenal seeking redemption and PSG aiming to defend their title.
