Nottingham Forest are bracing for intense interest in Elliot Anderson this summer, but they will only part with the midfielder for a monumental fee. The 23-year-old, who joined from Newcastle United for £35m in 2024, has become a standout performer, making 91 appearances in two seasons and earning seven England caps. He is tipped to start alongside Declan Rice in Thomas Tuchel's midfield at the upcoming World Cup.
Forest's Valuation Strategy
According to The Telegraph, Forest view the £115m Chelsea paid Brighton for Moises Caicedo in 2023 as the benchmark for Anderson's sale. This would more than treble their initial investment and surpass Declan Rice's £105m record for an English player. Manchester United and Manchester City are the most prominent suitors, though further interest could emerge if Anderson shines at the World Cup.
Manager's Stance
Manager Vitor Pereira has made clear the club is not eager to sell. 'The club wants to keep him playing for us, for sure,' he said. 'We have a very good base for next season.' Pereira praised Anderson's talent, noting his ability to score and create, but added that tactical discipline is key. 'He has the talent to be one of the top, top of the top,' Pereira stated.
Anderson himself remains focused on the World Cup. 'All my eyes are on that,' he said in March. 'Playing for England, that's all I'm thinking about at the moment.' Whether Forest can secure their desired fee remains to be seen, but they are determined not to be bullied into a sale.
