It is a big week for Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) next week in Emmerdale, as the date of his operation finally arrives. While the operation proves a success, his concern over the lasting effects his cancer may have continues to plague him. However, when he learns a dark truth from Moira (Natalie J Robb), his focus shifts squarely onto Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) with an unquenchable thirst for vengeance. Will Cain take the ultimate revenge?
Dr. Todd’s (Caroline Harker) evil continues to permeate the village. She moves forward with her fledgling romance with Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick), continues to terrorise Jacob Gallagher (Joe-Warren Plant), and now turns her attention to Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) with a vicious blackmail scheme. Has Todd finally met her match, or will Charity become another victim of her cruel machinations?
Elsewhere, Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards) and Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) start work at Jai Sharma’s (Chris Bisson) depot, but his trauma is still incredibly fresh. Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches) comes to Bob Hope’s (Tony Audenshaw) rescue, and Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) lets something important slip.

It is the day of Cain’s operation. He and Moira each try to act as the other’s pillar of strength. As he is wheeled into surgery, Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) is struck with panic. Though the surgery goes well, Cain finds it incredibly difficult to adjust to having a catheter. When Jacob is riddled with guilt over how vicious his feud with Dr. Todd has been, he attempts to broker peace and offers his condolences prior to her father’s funeral. It seems the two will be able to move on. Later, Mary Goskirk (Louise Jameson) plays matchmaker between Todd and Vanessa, and Jacob’s confidence in a new stability with Todd is destroyed when she turns on him again, teasing him with her knowledge of a secret that could destroy his life. Elsewhere, as Bear and Mandy set to work in the depot and the former wins a productivity competition, Jai inadvertently triggers him, prompting a traumatic flashback.
Tuesday, May 12
Charity’s blood runs cold when she learns of Todd’s allusions to Jacob and warns him off speaking to her any further. Later, Todd reveals to Vanessa that she has inherited her dad’s home in Matlock. When the topic of money comes up, she begins to scheme. Cain, desperately panicked over the potential of permanent incontinence, fakes pain in order to avoid being discharged from the hospital. Meanwhile, Bear continues to struggle, and upon being disciplined, snaps at Mandy and Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton), then flinches at Jai’s raised voice. As the girls leap to Bear’s defence, Jai takes a softer approach.
Wednesday, May 13
Todd makes it clear to Charity that she wants money to keep her mouth shut about baby Leyla’s true parentage. When Charity later spots her kissing Vanessa, she is further chilled. Todd later supplies Charity with the figure she is demanding, £10,000, and calls it compensation for Jacob’s actions. Bob’s panic about being a player short for his men’s darts team is abated when Lewis volunteers to play, boasting of his vast experience in the game. Also, Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) steps in to snap Cain out of his self-pity, leading him to return home, though he struggles to recuperate.
Thursday, May 14
Cain is left uneasy when Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Robert visit, and there is palpable tension between them and Moira. Later, she is forced to admit that Robert planted the evidence that led to her time in prison. Cain is left bloodthirsty, calling in Sam Dingle (James Hooton) for a favour. Concurrently, Charity is crumbling under the pressure of Todd’s threats as she struggles to secure the money needed to buy her silence.
Friday, May 15
As Robert tends to a curious noise in the barn, he finds himself knocked unconscious by Sam. Waking up tied to a chair and confronted by a hammer-brandishing Cain, Robert sweats bullets as Cain demands his pound of flesh. Meanwhile, Manpreet’s loose lips mean a secret is revealed.
