EastEnders' Chelsea Fox (Zaraah Abrahams) is about to have a huge change of heart about sending Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) down for the accident involving her son Jordan Fox (Jahsaiah Williams) – but it may just be too late.
Ian's sentencing day approaches
Next week sees the day of Ian's sentencing after he knocked young Jordan over following Vicki Fowler (Alice Haig) and Ross Marshall's (Alex Walkinshaw) wedding back in May. Having already pleaded guilty to being over the limit behind the wheel, Ian has somewhat accepted he faces a stint behind bars as his court date arrives.
However, when his lawyer gives him some unexpected good news, he is hopeful and seeks out Chelsea to beg for her help. While she initially dismisses him, guilt gets the better of her when she then confesses that she is partially to blame for Jordan's accident to her auntie Kim Fox (Tameka Empson).
Chelsea's change of heart
Now determined to do the right thing, she calls Ian and promises to help him in court. Chelsea and Kim race to the court in time but suffer a delay. Meanwhile, an anxious Ian nervously awaits their arrival. Will Chelsea get there in time to stop the judge sending Ian to prison?
Amid the drama, a naive Chelsea also plays right into the hands of her murderous ex-husband Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith), after she also tells his grandmother Shelia Atkins (Sheila Ruskins) about the role she had to play in Jordan's accident. Sheila – who has secretly been in cahoots with Gray – later visits her grandson in prison and informs him about this, but his unexpected reaction unsettles her.
Gray's evil scheme
As Gray heads back to his wing, there's a commotion involving numerous inmates that gives him an idea for an evil scheme. It seems four years behind bars has not changed cold killer Gray at all, and someone could be about to find themselves in serious danger.
