Major EastEnders characters face death after a devastating car crash in Wednesday's episode (April 22), now available on BBC iPlayer. The collision leaves multiple lives hanging in the balance, though spoilers confirm no fatalities.
How the Crash Unfolded
Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) was secretly driving Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) to the hospital, with children Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) and Avani (Aaliyah James) in the back. Ravi, suffering a mental health crisis and self-harming, had become increasingly paranoid, installing new locks and ordering his family to stay inside the flat.
Priya devised a plan to flee Walford, obtaining a car from the lot and loading her family inside. On the way, Ravi spotted a hospital sign and grew agitated. Meanwhile, Nugget suffered a seizure in the back seat, causing Priya to take her eyes off the road.
At that moment, Max Branning (Jake Wood) and Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) were driving back from a mixer for Jimmy. They had enjoyed a fun evening with electric chemistry, but tragedy struck as they encountered Priya's car. Priya tried to swerve but collided with their vehicle, leaving everyone shaken.
Aftermath and Survival
Both families survive the crash. Max tends to Cindy at the hospital, sharing a tender moment. Priya returns to Walford to find Ravi on a bridge, convincing him to seek help. Next week, Ravi is diagnosed with complex PTSD in a mental health unit.
EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One or streams from 6am on BBC iPlayer.
