Coronation Street Star Glad Theo Story Is Over as Summer Faces Murder Probe
Coronation Street Star Glad Theo Story Is Over

Coronation Street star Harriet Bibby has admitted she is relieved that the harrowing storyline involving Theo Silverton has finally concluded. The abusive character, played by James Cartwright, subjected Todd Grimshaw to months of terror before meeting his demise on the cobbles in a shocking whodunnit.

End of a Dark Chapter

For months, viewers watched as Theo manipulated and abused Todd, isolating him from loved ones like George Shuttleworth, Christina Boyd, and Summer Spellman. The storyline culminated in a tense confrontation that left Theo dead, sparking a murder mystery. Bibby, who portrays Summer, expressed her relief in an interview with Metro. “There were a lot of potential murder victims at the start, so when we learned it was going to be Theo, I wasn't necessarily excited, but I was definitely happy it put an end to the horror for Summer and the fear of Todd being hurt again,” she said.

Summer’s Dark Side

Summer’s hatred for Theo runs deep not only because of what he did to Todd but also because he left her adoptive father, Billy Mayhew, to die in a minibus crash. Determined to bring him to justice, Summer even considered using his life insurance payout to hire Carl Webster. A recently revealed journal detailing fantasies of holding a gun to Theo’s head has raised questions about her capabilities. Bibby noted, “We’ve seen a level-headed Summer, but now she’s had to make her own decisions. I’m excited to see a different side and for people to question whether she could be capable of murder.”

Suspect Number One

As the police investigation intensifies, Summer becomes the prime suspect. She was the last person to see Theo alive, and her journal has been discovered by George Shuttleworth, who begins to doubt her innocence. Bibby shared that fans are already speculating: “People really question the characters. My friend’s mum texted to ask, ‘Did Harriet kill Theo?’ It’s exciting to be involved in such a buzz.”

The actress also described the experience of filming police interrogation scenes as “quite different,” adding, “Summer is such an unexpected suspect, but it’s completely understandable why she’s a suspect.” As DS Kit Green and DS Lisa Swain close in, viewers will be on the edge of their seats wondering if Summer is capable of murder.
