When Daniel visits No.1 and finds Bertie having a great time, he confronts Jodie about her lies. Meanwhile, George and Christina discover Summer's journal, which includes a passage about putting a gun to Theo's head. Kit uncovers evidence that puts Summer firmly in the frame, and Sam overhears Roy saying nobody can be trusted.

Summer is interrogated by Lisa with Kit's discovery. Todd defends her. Later, George questions Summer further, and a flashback reveals what he saw. Ben is sickened to learn Megan Walsh has been released on bail, and he is further angered when Maggie attends a family lunch. After telling a wounded Will that Megan is free, Ben snaps upon learning that Ollie invited Maggie, revealing Maggie's secrets. Meanwhile, Fiz Dobbs worries to Carla Connor-Swain about Sarah, who is offended when Carla gives her work to Michael Bailey. Roy proudly shows off his newly decorated café, and Daniel becomes the target of an online troll who alleges he knew about Megan's actions and groomed Summer.

Sarah continues to unravel at work. After making an admin error and losing her temper, Carla tells her to take time off. Sarah heads to the Rovers to get drunk. Summer fiercely reprimands George for his accusations and suggests he killed Theo. Later, when she discovers Asha Alahan and Nina Lucas gossiping about her, she is about to explode when Gary Windass swoops her away. Christina is caught in a lie by the police and pushes George to tell them what he knows. Elsewhere, Daniel admits to Jodie that his troll, 'Truthteller,' is someone who knows him, and she points him toward David Platt.

Will confides in Tim Metcalfe that he is on edge knowing Megan is free. While Ben tries to book a family holiday, Susie's behavior causes more drama for the Driscolls. Overhearing George admit to Christina that he has told the police about Summer's lies, Summer panics and flees. When Todd finds her mid-getaway, she admits that the American university is flying her out this afternoon and confesses she is terrified the police are coming for her. Concurrently, Carla demands Sarah take time away from work.

Daniel treats Jodie to lunch when she announces it is her birthday, but the mood sours when Shona Platt arrives and reveals that Jodie's birthday is not until December. As Summer remembers a witness who can confirm her alibi, a guilty George admits to Todd that he gave the police the information needed to arrest Summer. Elsewhere, while skiving his PE exam, Will seeks refuge in the precinct, where Bethany Platt finds him and offers support, drawing on her own experiences of being groomed. However, when she touches his hand, Will explodes.
