Chloe Lewis led mourners paying their respects to former The Only Way Is Essex star Jake Hall on Friday, weeks after his tragic death in Majorca aged 35. A funeral service celebrating Hall’s life was held at St Mary the Virgin church in Wanstead, east London, where family, friends, and former co-stars gathered to say goodbye.
Lewis, who dated Hall for almost a decade before their split in 2016, arrived alongside influencer Georgie Fisher and her sister Abbie Morgan. Several familiar faces from the Towie cast were also in attendance, including Lydia Bright, James ‘Arg’ Argent, Liam Blackwell, Demi Sims, Tommy Mallet, and Georgia Kousoulou.
The cortege was led by a Rolls-Royce adorned with floral tributes reading ‘Dad’ and ‘Brother’ in honour of Hall, who leaves behind his eight-year-old daughter River and his family. Other mourners included boxer Derek Chisora, motivational speaker Roxie Nafousi, DJ Fat Tony, singer Tom Grennan, and members of the Beckham family, including David Beckham’s mother, Sandra, and sister, Joanne.
The emotional service came after Lewis shared a heartbreaking tribute to Hall following his death earlier this month. Reflecting on their relationship, which began when they were teenagers, Lewis recalled meeting Hall when she was 16 and said he looked as though he had ‘stepped straight out of a Ralph Lauren catalogue’. She described how they became inseparable after their first meeting and remained best friends throughout much of their youth.
‘From that day on, we were inseparable, and you became my best friend,’ she wrote.
Jake Hall's death - What we know
Police found Jake Hall lying in a pool of blood with fatal injuries caused by shards of glass after he reportedly smashed his head through a door. The former Towie star had been in Majorca with witnesses informing investigators he had been ‘partying all night and decided to carry on the party back at the place he was renting’.
Police were called to the rented property at 7.30am and have interviewed four men and two women staying at the house. A neighbour told local paper Ultima Hora: ‘It must have been around 2am. It was late but I was still awake. I began to hear a very loud noise, as if they were drilling something. I felt the walls vibrate. They stopped after about five minutes and then I fell asleep.’ Another neighbour said she hadn’t heard anything out of the ordinary.
Hall’s body was removed from the property at around 1pm yesterday. There have been no arrests and an autopsy will take place in the Majorcan capital Palma.
Lewis admitted that starring together on Towie placed immense pressure on their relationship, explaining that life in the public eye became difficult for both of them. ‘Being in the public eye wasn’t really what we wanted, but it all just happened so quickly and it took over our relationship,’ she said. Despite eventually separating after around a decade together, Lewis said Hall remained one of the most important people in her life.
She praised him as a devoted father and talented entrepreneur, describing him as the ‘most talented and creative’ person she knew. The reality star also reflected on Hall’s love of music, revealing that John Legend’s Ordinary People would always hold special meaning for her because of him.
‘You were such a massive and special part of my life,’ she wrote. ‘I truly hoped that we would grow old, that I’d see you one day, happy and at peace with life.’ Lewis added: ‘The world feels quieter since you’ve been gone, like somehow all the music is all wrong.’
Her tribute prompted an outpouring of support from friends and fellow celebrities, with Michelle Keegan, Vicky Pattison and Amber Dowding among those offering condolences.
Hall joined Towie in 2015 and quickly became a fan favourite. Away from reality television, he launched his own fashion ventures, including menswear label By Jake Hall, and later co-founded clothing brand Prévu Studio. He shared daughter River with former Real Housewives of Cheshire star Misse Beqiri.
Although the pair separated in 2021, Beqiri recently paid tribute to Hall by sharing a photograph of him kissing her on the face.
