Next week in Emmerdale, Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb) is consumed with thoughts of vengeance against Ross Barton (Michael Parr). Mack plots to get Ross alone and vulnerable before striking, while he continues to worry about Charity Dingle’s (Emma Atkins) mental wellbeing.
Mack’s revenge plan unfolds
On Monday, July 13, Ross is unnerved when Mack recruits him to help with a job at the farm. Despite Mack’s reassurance that things are fine, tension sizzles as they work. Things explode and they begin trading blows atop the barn’s mezzanine. Ross is pushed over the edge.
Meanwhile, Serena Sugden (Casey Al-Shaqsy) attempts to keep her research a secret. Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) warns Robert that she must never learn the truth about John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) finally remembers where he knows Serena from, just before leaving.
Gabby is narked when Dawn asks her and Billy to keep their relationship a secret from the kids. Nicola feels guilty when Ross confirms their scheme against Kev has worked.
Gabby and Billy’s romance exposed
On Wednesday, July 15, a double episode airs. Clemmie Reed (Mabel Addison) is shocked when she enters the Hide and catches Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) and Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) kissing. Heading home to question Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley), it’s clear that Dawn is struggling with the situation much more than Clemmie, who accepts the new relationship.
Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is incandescent to learn that Mack knows the truth about Leyla. After Mack finally decides to leave, she and Charity scheme to ensure Sarah never finds out. Charity almost comes clean about her rape but is interrupted by Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and a tipsy, despairing Mack.
Gabby’s anxiety around food means she refuses to allow Thomas Tate (Bertie Brotherton) to attend a friend’s birthday party after seeing the menu. Aaron is still deeply distrustful of Serena. Caleb Miligan (William Ash) asks Kerry Wyatt (Laura Norton) to handle a dodgy delivery alongside Billy. Nicola is floored when Lewis reveals that he’s hired Kev.
Aaron and Chas investigate Serena
On Thursday, July 16, Robert finds himself knocked out by a runaway farm trailer. Aaron’s eye is on Serena, the only other person at the scene, as the culprit. Aaron later tells Robert his theory about Serena and enlists Chas to help him watch her.
Vanessa Woodfield (Michelle Hardwick) is chilled when DS Reid (Angela Lonsdale) arrives in the village with questions about Dr Todd (Caroline Harker). Left shaken to the core, Vanessa begins asking questions.
Jimmy King (Nick Miles) skives off work and uses his day off to play golf with Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker).
Charity’s tentative steps toward survival
On Friday, July 17, after Noah Dingle (Jack Downham) tells Mack that he’s looking at jobs abroad and considering a fresh start away from the village, Mack’s attention turns to Charity. Worried about her welfare, he calls on Vanessa to see if she has any idea where she is. Charity, meanwhile, is taking tentative steps toward survival and attends a rape victim support group.
Concurrently, Chas and Aaron are knocked off their feet by their discovery, and Lewis is second-guessing his decision to employ Kev.
