The darker shade is a far cry from his style in early August, when he was photographed next to the director of the CIA with his usual hairdo – a wispy, thin bit of blonde hair atop his head. The contrast has fueled speculation and commentary across political and social media circles.

Trump's History with His Appearance

Trump has long boasted about his looks and has previously criticized media outlets for unflattering portrayals. In 2025, he branded Time Magazine's cover shoot of him as 'the worst of all time.' The photo, taken from below, showed Trump with the sun behind his head, making his pale hair difficult to see against the light backdrop.

So far, Trump has not addressed his darker hairdo. Instead, he has been active on his Truth Social platform, posting a series of AI-generated videos and images.

In one of the posts, Trump shared a map of New Mexico with the state's name crossed out, dubbing it 'New America' – continuing his spree of renaming things. Late last month, with the Iran War still raging and Russian threats on NATO, the White House announced that Lake Ontario would be renamed 'Lake America.'

'I guess the purpose of this, more than anything else, is we're going to be changing the name of Lake Ontario, effective immediately to Lake America. That's going to take place right now as I sign the order,' Trump said at the time. He also told reporters in the Oval Office: 'We defend Canada for nothing, we don't get anything.'

As of now, Trump has not issued any public comment on his hair color change, leaving observers to speculate on the reason behind the new look.
