Trump Claims Strait of Hormuz Will Open by Friday
Speaking at the G7 summit, US President Donald Trump announced that the Strait of Hormuz will be open by Friday. He also stated that the full text of the peace deal will be released in a “formal setting.”
Trump expressed his expectation that the “second stage” of the deal “will go quickly.” He highlighted that the main outcome of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is that Iran will “never have a nuclear weapon.” He added that he will discuss the deal with the media “in a couple of days.”
Earlier, Trump told reporters that he has a “great relationship” with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, but noted that Netanyahu “has to be more responsible with respect to Lebanon.”
“Without me there would be no Israel, because no other president was willing to do what I did,” Trump asserted.
