TikTok Influencer Paige Brookes Escapes Immediate Jail Time Following High-Speed Police Pursuit in Stafford
Paige Brookes, a 24-year-old social media influencer with a significant following on TikTok, has been spared an immediate prison sentence after leading police on a dramatic 90mph chase through the streets of Stafford in her distinctive bright yellow Chevrolet Coupe. The incident, which occurred in the early hours of September 3, 2026, resulted in Brookes pleading guilty to charges of dangerous driving and failing to stop for a constable.
Chaotic Night Unfolds as Police Respond to Mental Health Concerns
The events began on the evening of September 2 when a concerned friend contacted Staffordshire Police, reporting that Brookes was suicidal and her whereabouts were unknown, though she had been seen driving her vehicle. Officers located the Chevrolet Coupe via ANPR cameras on the A34 at approximately 2:15 am the following morning and attempted to pull her over. Brookes refused to comply, initiating a pursuit that would see her reach speeds of up to 90mph on damp roads with light rain.
During the chase, Brookes herself called the police call room, issuing a chilling warning that she would deliberately crash her car if officers did not back off. Prosecutor Jason Dudhee described the pursuit as a "prolonged" and "deliberate course of dangerous driving," noting that Brookes accelerated to 70mph in a 30mph zone and drove at 50mph on Silkmore Lane, significantly exceeding the speed limit.
Crash Ends Pursuit as Vehicle Spins 180 Degrees
The chase came to a dramatic conclusion when Brookes lost control of her Chevrolet Coupe at a mini-roundabout, colliding with roadside railings. The impact caused the vehicle to spin 180 degrees before coming to a stop. Despite attempting to drive away, Brookes was unable to do so due to damage sustained to the front of the car. Police deployed a stinger device during the pursuit, but Brookes managed to avoid it, continuing her reckless flight.
At the scene, Brookes was breathalysed and recorded a reading of zero, indicating she was not under the influence of alcohol. Her lawyer, Chris Clark, addressed Cannock Magistrates' Court, acknowledging that the driving was "reckless, impulsive, and dangerous" but emphasizing that Brookes was in a "very desperate situation" that night, describing her actions as a "cry for help." Clark noted that the roads were clear at that early hour and that she did not maintain high speeds throughout the entire journey.
Suspended Sentence and Driving Ban Imposed by Magistrates
In sentencing, the magistrates handed Brookes a 24-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, meaning she will avoid jail unless she reoffends within that period. Additionally, she was ordered to complete a 15-day rehabilitation activity requirement and 150 hours of unpaid work. A 12-month driving ban was also imposed, prohibiting her from getting behind the wheel for a year.
This case highlights the intersection of social media influence, mental health crises, and road safety, sparking discussions about accountability and support for individuals in distress. Brookes, known on TikTok as @paigeebrookes, often shares content related to food and lifestyle, but this incident has brought her under public scrutiny for her dangerous actions on the road.
