Serena's secret identity revealed
Since arriving in Emmerdale, Serena claimed she wanted to reconnect with distant cousin Robert Sugden. However, her intense interest in John Sugden's life and the death of Nate Robinson raised suspicions. Kev Townsend initially thought he recognized Serena as a prison guard, but later realized she was a police officer. He confronted Robert at Emmerdale Farm, revealing the truth.
Robert and Aaron, along with Victoria, have been covering up John's murder since January, when Victoria killed the crazed medic. Victoria later left for Portugal after police ruled John's death a suicide. Robert's discovery that Serena is a cop sent him into panic.

In the July 15 episode, Serena admitted she used to work in the police but no longer does. She explained that John had given her family his army pension, which helped their struggling farm.
