Two sixteen-year-old boys have been rushed to hospital with gunshot wounds following a violent incident in Barking on Sunday evening, with one teenager potentially facing permanent life-altering injuries.

Emergency Response on Residential Street

Police were called to Hardwicke Street at 8:58pm on November 16 after receiving multiple reports of a shooting in the residential area. Emergency services, including armed response units and paramedics, quickly descended upon the scene.

Officers discovered both teenagers suffering from gunshot injuries. The London Ambulance Service provided immediate medical attention at the location before transporting the victims to hospital for further treatment.

Severity of Injuries Revealed

While both boys were reported to be in stable condition upon arrival at hospital and their injuries are not considered life-threatening, the Metropolitan Police confirmed that one of the 16-year-olds may sustain life-changing damage as a result of the attack.

The other teenager is believed to have less serious injuries, though both remain under medical supervision as investigations continue.

Police Investigation Underway

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police have launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the double shooting. No arrests have been made in connection with the incident as of Monday morning.

A police spokesperson stated: "Both were taken to hospital and their conditions are not believed to be life-threatening, but one of the boys is believed to have life-changing injuries."
