Man Appears in Court Over North London Murder and Rape Charges
A 40-year-old man from North London has appeared in court, accused of the murder of two women and the rape of a third. Simon Levy, of Beaufoy Road, Tottenham, appeared via videolink at the Old Bailey on Wednesday for a hearing concerning the serious charges against him.
Details of the Alleged Murders
Levy is charged with the murder of 39-year-old Sheryl Wilkins, who was discovered unresponsive on August 24, 2025, in High Road, Tottenham. He also stands accused of murdering 53-year-old Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, whose body was found on March 17, 2025.
Prosecutor Tom Little KC told the court that Ms Valencia-Trujillo was found in a block of flats on the Aylesbury estate in south-east London that is "very largely disused". He stated that the location has few residents or passers-by, with only the occasional security officer patrolling the area.
The court heard that the position in which Ms Valencia-Trujillo's body was left is similar to that of Sheryl Wilkins. It is alleged that Levy travelled to the area the day before the killing and that he murdered Ms Valencia-Trujillo during a sexual encounter.
Further Charges and Court Proceedings
In addition to the two murder charges, Simon Levy faces further serious allegations concerning another woman. He is charged with:
- Two counts of rape
- Grievous bodily harm with intent
- Non-fatal strangulation
These offences are alleged to have occurred in High Road, Tottenham, on January 21, 2025. The identity of this woman is protected for legal reasons.
During the hearing, Levy, who wore a grey tracksuit and dark glasses, spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth. Judge Mark Lucraft KC remanded him in custody. A plea and case management hearing has been scheduled for February 23 at the Old Bailey. Levy was not asked to enter pleas to any of the charges at this stage.
