North London Man Faces Serious Charges in Linked Cases
A 40-year-old man from Tottenham has been charged with the murders of two women and the violent rape of a third, in what the Metropolitan Police are describing as a complex investigation spanning several months.
Simon Levy, of Beaufoy Road, North London, was formally charged on Thursday, November 20, 2025, with the murder of 53-year-old Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo. He is scheduled to appear via video-link at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
Timeline of a Complex Investigation
The case began when police were called to the Aylesbury Estate in Walworth on Monday, March 17, following reports of an injured woman. Officers discovered the body of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo, who was pronounced dead at the scene. A post-mortem examination initially proved inconclusive, failing to determine a cause of death.
Levy was first arrested on suspicion of this murder on Tuesday, April 1. He was later released under investigation as enquiries, including additional forensic tests, continued.
The investigation took a significant turn months later. On Thursday, September 4, Levy was re-arrested, not only in connection with Carmenza’s death but also for the murder of 39-year-old Sheryl Wilkins. Sheryl had died on Sunday, August 24, in High Road, Tottenham. Levy was charged with her murder on Sunday, September 7.
While in custody, he was further arrested in connection with a separate, violent incident against another woman that had occurred on Tuesday, January 21, also on High Road in Tottenham. For this, he was charged with two counts of rape, grievous bodily harm, and intentional suffocation.
Authorities Appeal for Information
The Metropolitan Police have now joined all three cases into a single, major investigation. A trial date has been set for June 2026 at the Old Bailey.
Detectives leading the inquiry believe there may be individuals with crucial information who have not yet come forward. They are urging anyone, including potential victims who have not reported incidents, to speak to them.
Commander Clair Kelland, the Met’s lead for public protection, stated: “As the lead for public protection at the Met, one of our main priorities is to better protect women and girls. The investigation into Simon Levy is one of great complexity. We are working closely with partners across relevant boroughs, including Haringey and Southwark, to encourage reporting and raise awareness of the support we can provide to victim-survivors.”
Jaswant Narwal of the Crown Prosecution Service confirmed the decision to prosecute and reminded the public that proceedings are active and the defendant has a right to a fair trial.
