A 52-year-old woman who was stabbed to death in Shepherd's Bush has been formally identified as Samantha Turner. The attack occurred in an upstairs flat on Askew Road during the morning of August 18.
Police response and victim identification
Police were called to the address shortly before 8.20am on August 18. Officers discovered Samantha Turner and a 32-year-old woman, both suffering from stab wounds. The second victim remains in hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
A 48-year-old man, Alan Dore of Askew Crescent, was arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been charged with murder and attempted murder and is scheduled to appear at Hendon Magistrates' Court later today.
Investigation and appeal for witnesses
Detective Inspector Richard MacKenzie, who is leading the investigation at the Metropolitan Police, stated: "Our enquiries continue at pace as we work to establish the full circumstances of this deeply tragic incident. Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the victim and injured."
Authorities have urged witnesses, particularly those with relevant CCTV or doorbell footage, to come forward. Several marked police vehicles and an ambulance were seen at the scene, and a large cordon was established around a forensics tent.
