Sexual Assault at London Overground: Police Appeal

Police have launched an investigation after a woman reported being sexually assaulted at a London Overground station. The incident occurred on the stairs of Walthamstow Central station shortly after 3pm on Wednesday, April 29. The victim was violated by a man who remains at large more than two weeks later.

Police Release CCTV Image

The British Transport Police (BTP) has now released a CCTV image of a man they believe may have crucial information to assist their enquiries. In a statement, detectives said: 'Detectives would like to speak to the man pictured, as they believe he may have information which could help their investigation.'

The image shows a Black man of medium build with cropped black hair. He is wearing a dark green Nike hoodie with an orange-and-white tick logo. Anyone who recognises him is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 686 of 29 April. Anonymous reports can be made to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
