Roy's Hallucination Gives Sam Terrifying Advice in Corrie

Sam Blakeman's Psychotic Episode Intensifies

In the latest episode of Coronation Street, young Sam Blakeman, portrayed by Jude Riordan, finds himself spiraling deeper into a psychotic episode. His mind is using the trusted figure of Roy Cropper, played by David Neilson, to convince him that he is in grave danger.

Sam's anxiety was triggered by sinister predator Megan Walsh, who had been grooming Will Driscoll. After Sam discovered her actions, Megan went to extreme lengths to silence him, including sabotaging his grades and threatening to accuse him of being a creep. Even after Megan's exposure, Sam remains on edge, hallucinating and fighting with Will.

Nick Seeks Roy's Help

In tonight's episode, Nick Tilsley, played by Ben Price, expresses his concerns to Roy and asks him to spend time with Sam. Roy and Sam share a sweet relationship built on their love of chess. Roy challenges Sam to a game and quickly notices worrying signs. Sam produces a tracking device from his school bag, fearing it was planted by classmates. Roy later shares this with Nick and Toyah Battersby, played by Georgia Taylor. Nick admits he planted the device to monitor Sam's movements. Both Roy and Toyah agree this likely exacerbated Sam's paranoia, unaware of how severe his condition has become.

The Hallucination

It transpires that Sam had been hallucinating Roy when Roy left the room to take a call from the builder working on the café after the fire. The hallucination continues after their chess game. In a chilling conversation, Sam asks the vision of Roy why everyone is out to get him. The response he receives is terrifying and has the potential to push Sam toward violence. Viewers will have to watch the episode to discover exactly what Roy's hallucination says.

Will the real Roy, Toyah, and Nick figure out what is wrong with Sam before something terrible happens? The episode airs tonight and is available on ITVX and YouTube.
