Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) is set to be seriously injured in Emmerdale as newcomer Serena Sugden's (Casey Al-Shaqsy) secrets are exposed. The character, who arrived in the village seemingly as a friendly confidante, has been hiding a mysterious past that finally catches up with her.
Serena's suspicious behavior
Since her arrival, Serena quickly befriended Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) after her nervous breakdown and formed a close bond with Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill). However, her interest in the village's dark history, particularly regarding the murderous medic John (Oliver Farnworth), Robert's evil half-brother, raised eyebrows. Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill), who spent years behind bars, is convinced he has met Serena before but cannot place her.
Vanessa and Moira grow suspicious
When Serena hides her laptop research from Robert and Vanessa (Michelle Hardwick), Vanessa becomes suspicious and informs Moira Barton (Natalie J Robb) that Serena was asking questions about John. Moira warns Robert that Serena must never learn the truth about John's death. Meanwhile, Kev suddenly remembers where he knows Serena from and reveals the shocking truth to Robert.
Robert's accident
The very next day, while walking in a field, Robert is struck unconscious by a runaway farm trailer. Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) grows suspicious of Serena's presence at the scene and, along with Chas (Lucy Pargeter), decides to keep an eye on her. What they discover leaves them stunned.
According to the source, Serena's behavior becomes increasingly erratic, prompting villagers to question her motives. The accident may not be a coincidence, raising fears of sabotage. Fans are left wondering who Serena truly is and what her real interest in the Sugdens entails.
