Police have released the first image of Masum Miah, 42, who was fatally shot in his car in east London in the early hours of Tuesday. The gunman remains at large, and no arrests have been made.
Shooting in St Bartholomew's Road
Shots were fired at Miah's parked car in St Bartholomew's Road, Newham, at around 3am on Tuesday. Officers found the 42-year-old at the scene with a single fatal gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Chief Inspector Dan Whitten, leading the investigation, said: 'Our thoughts remain with Masum's family as they come to terms with his tragic death.'
Police appeal for witnesses
Whitten urged anyone with information to come forward, stating: 'We are continuing to appeal to anyone with information that could assist our enquiries to come forward. If you were in the area at the time of the shooting, witnessed anything suspicious or have any dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage that could support our investigation, we urge you to get in touch. No matter how big or small the information you have is, it could prove vital in helping us piece together the full circumstances.'
At this stage, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police are asking for any dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from the area to be submitted.
