Man Charged with Murder of 74-Year-Old Woman in Forest Gate

Officers responded to reports of a death at St George's Square, where they attempted to provide first aid to the elderly woman. Despite their efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. Arrest and Court Proceedings
Richard Clayton, 44, of St George's Square, was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with murder the following day. He appeared at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on February 19, where he was remanded into custody. Clayton is scheduled to make his next court appearance at the Old Bailey on Monday, February 23.
