A 54-year-old man has been charged with murder following the death of a 31-year-old woman who fell from height in Southwark. Mohammed Sherif, of Rowcross Street, is accused of killing Kerry Ann Goodbrand on Friday, August 21. He will appear at Croydon Magistrates’ Court later today (August 25).
Emergency response and charges
Emergency services were called to the Old Kent Road area at 2.50pm on August 21 to reports that a woman had fallen from height. Kerry died from her injuries at the scene. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the charge this morning and are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.
Sherif was charged with murder on the morning of August 25. The police have not released further details about the circumstances leading to the charge, but the investigation remains ongoing.

Detective Chief Superintendent Emma Bond, who leads policing in the area, said: "Our thoughts are with the woman’s family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time." She added that officers are working diligently to establish the full circumstances surrounding her death.
Bond noted that members of the community will see an increased police presence in the area while enquiries are conducted locally. She encouraged anyone with concerns or information to speak to an officer or contact the police.
