Puzzle Answers Transposed
In the summer puzzles special published on 25 July (page 2), questions 1 and 6 by Alex Bellos contained answers that were accidentally swapped, causing additional confusion for solvers. The correction was published on 1 August (page 52). Additionally, the order of answers to first lines from books was jumbled, leading to further inaccuracies in the same feature.
Puy du Fou Date Error
An article on 1 August (page 44) about a French bidder's links to a Putin-backing oligarch incorrectly stated that theme park company Puy du Fou expressed concerns about a company reorganisation in 2022. The correct year is 2014. The error was identified and corrected following a review of the original source material.
Zac Cockrell's Absence Clarified
An interview with the band Alabama Shakes in Leeds, published on 18 July (Saturday magazine, page 33), speculated that bassist Zac Cockrell was asleep during the interview. In fact, he was in Nashville at the time. The article has been updated to reflect this clarification, ensuring accuracy about the band member's location.
Recent Amendments Across the Newsroom
Other recently amended articles include a report on extreme rightwing referrals to Prevent, which rose by 42% amid record anti-terror reporting, as well as a story about a University of Maryland 'teacher of the year' detained by ICE in Texas. Additional corrections were made to an article on government plans regarding pub standing, an obituary for Vincent Pastore, a piece on Andy Burnham's background, and a feature on sketch duo Britney.
