Five men were stabbed on a busy London road on Friday afternoon, leading to an arrest on suspicion of grievous bodily harm (GBH) and drug offences. The Metropolitan Police confirmed that officers were alerted at approximately 2:47 pm to reports of an altercation and multiple stabbings on Horn Lane, Acton.
Emergency Response and Injuries
Emergency first aid was administered to all five victims at the scene by attending officers. Four men were subsequently transported to hospital with stab wounds, though none of their injuries were considered life-threatening or life-changing. The victims, aged 20, 22, 42, and 47, are receiving medical treatment.
A fifth man, aged 26, was also taken to hospital, where he was arrested on suspicion of GBH and possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs. He currently remains under hospital care, with his injuries also deemed not life-threatening or life-changing.
Police Statement
The Metropolitan Police stated: "Police on patrol on Horn Lane, Acton at 14:47 hrs on Friday, 22 May were alerted to reports that five men had been involved in an altercation, whereby they were assaulted and stabbed. Officers provided emergency first aid to the five people. Four of the men, aged 20, 22, 42 and 47, were taken to hospital with stab wounds. Their condition has been deemed not to be life-threatening or life-changing. Another man – aged 26 – was taken to hospital where his injuries have also been deemed not to be life-threatening or life-changing. He has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and Possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs but remains in hospital at this time."
Community Reassurance
Chief Superintendent Jill Horsfall stated: "We recognise this will be concerning for the local community and want to reassure them that our detectives are working quickly to establish exactly what has taken place. Residents can expect to see an increased police presence in the area over the coming days. If you have any concerns, please come and speak to our officers."
The incident has prompted a police investigation, with detectives working to determine the circumstances leading up to the stabbings. An increased police presence will be visible in the Acton area to reassure the public and gather further information.
