Chloe Madeley celebrated her 39th birthday with her ex-husband James Haskell and their three-year-old daughter Bodhi, sharing photos on social media of their weekend lunch. The fitness coach posted images of the former couple enjoying tacos on a restaurant terrace, with Chloe smiling while cuddling Bodhi alongside the former England rugby player.
Co-parenting after divorce
The celebration comes nearly two years after the pair announced their separation following five years of marriage. In a social media post captioned 'Birthday weekend,' Chloe also included a picture with her parents, Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan, enjoying a meal and wine. Fans sent well wishes in the comments.
At the time of their split, James and Chloe stated that their daughter was their 'sole focus' and they would co-parent 'with nothing but love.' Since then, they have regularly spoken about their friendly co-parenting relationship and have been seen spending time together with Bodhi.
Reflections on the marriage
In 2024, Chloe described the last year of her marriage as 'dark and incredibly scary.' Speaking to media, she said: 'When you tell people that you are divorcing, everyone sees it as such a negative thing. They say: “This is going to be so hard for you.” And, yes, it is, but the hardest bit was when we were married. The last year of the marriage was awful. It was so dark, painful, and one of the worst periods of my life. It’s a good thing we ended it.'
Earlier this year, James' mother Susie Haskell shared stern words about Chloe during an appearance on E4's Celebs Go Dating. She said: 'I'm not sure where he's gone wrong because prior to his marriage, I met lots of lovely girlfriends. Each of them just loved me, which is a bonus. I do have quite a strong opinion on why I think it went wrong. You can't have two stars because you have them competing for the floor space the whole time.' She added: 'In the past he's been extremely popular. I've seen at rugby matches where elderly ladies have got very close to him. He needs someone who can see the softness of him, coupled with quite a brilliant intellect. He's written seven books. Three of them are on The Times best-seller list.'
