Police have launched a public appeal to identify a man wanted in connection with a violent Christmas Day assault at a Wetherspoons pub in Bexleyheath that left a young pubgoer with severe, potentially life-changing facial injuries.
Brutal Christmas Morning Attack at The Wrong Un
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the incident occurred at The Wrong Un on Bexleyheath Broadway shortly before 12:30am on December 25, 2025. The 27-year-old victim was subjected to a brutal attack inside the popular pub, resulting in multiple serious facial fractures.
Emergency services rushed the injured man to hospital, where medical professionals have indicated that his injuries could have permanent, life-altering consequences. The suspect fled the scene before police officers arrived, leaving investigators to piece together the events of that early Christmas morning.
CCTV Image Released in Public Appeal
Detectives have now released a CCTV image of a man they urgently need to trace as part of their ongoing investigation. Police believe the individual may be local to the Bexley area and are appealing directly to the community for assistance.
Detective Constable Bracey, who is leading the investigation, stated: "Were you in the Wrong Un pub in Bexleyheath last Christmas Day in the early hours? Do you remember witnessing a fight between two men? This was a terrible assault and the victim suffered serious injuries that continue to impact his life. We need to speak with this man and if you recognise him from the CCTV please get in touch as soon as possible."
Separate Bexley Bar Attack Under Investigation
In a separate but concerning development for the borough, police are also working to identify another assailant involved in a weekend glassing incident at a high street bar elsewhere in Bexley. That attack left a man in his 30s requiring extensive reconstructive surgery following the violent assault.
The Metropolitan Police have emphasised the seriousness of both incidents and their commitment to bringing those responsible to justice.
