West Wickham restaurant iNaga has been named a national winner at the Curry Life Awards 2026, receiving the Editor's Choice Award at a ceremony held at the InterContinental London Park Lane on Sunday, October 4. The accolade follows a shortlisting process driven by customer nominations, and the restaurant has described the recognition as a strong start to its autumn and winter season.
Recognition at the Curry Life Awards 2026
The Curry Life Awards, organised by Curry Life Media Group, celebrate the UK's curry industry, honouring restaurants, takeaways, chefs, and suppliers from across the country. iNaga's Editor's Choice Award adds to a growing list of honours for the establishment, which was also named among the UK's top 100 Asian restaurants in 2025 and won Asian Restaurant of the Year for London Suburbs at the Asian Curry Awards 2025.
Owner Abdul Hay expressed his delight at the win, thanking loyal diners for their continued support. "We're thrilled to have received the Editor's Choice Award. It's a big one, so we're already trying to figure out which wall it will fit on," he said.
Reaction from the restaurant and plans ahead
Hay added: "We're looking forward to a busy autumn and winter season, with a couple of music nights planned, then of course Christmas and New Year. This award is a great start to the next season."
Sharing the news on Instagram, the restaurant wrote: "Wow, what an amazing evening! Editor's Choice is like winning Best in Show! We had a fabulous time and can't wait to get the plate up on the wall of fame."
Impact of the award
The award is expected to bolster iNaga's reputation as a leading dining destination in the London suburbs, building on its previous national and regional successes. The restaurant now looks ahead to a season of planned events and festive celebrations, with the new accolade serving as a launchpad for the months ahead.
